                                  Getting Started:  Making An Appointment

    For most people, making the decision to seek professional help is very difficult.  I understand this, and I try to make the process as comfortable and accessible as I can.  From the time you call, your relationship is with me, personally, not with an appointment secretary or receptionist.  We may talk briefly on the phone or by e-mail, and then schedule an initial consultation, usually within a week or two.  No commitment is assumed beyond the first meeting.  Once we've had a chance to talk, I will usually be able to give you a general idea of how I see your problem, and make some recommendations about possible courses of treatment.  If we decide to work together, you'll have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have at that time, or any time.  Your input always matters, and helps me provide you with the most individualized treatment possible.
